What makes a performance for me is when you can see the emotion and love for the music pass over the artist’s face. I pointed out to Bill that this man is clearly about to let the music overtake him entirely, as evidenced by the furrowed brow displayed mid-song. He draws it back and maintains composure for the fans just until the end – when it’s obvious he’s got some spirits running through him.
I also enjoy the way Eric celebrates the crotch in dance.

Okay, so if you haven’t seen my favourite movie of all time, The Big Lebowski, here is a good summary. Note though that if you don’t want spoilers, you shouldn’t watch this. Not that there’s a lot to spoil… Note alsotoo: LOTS of language. By which I mean naughty words.
I know I’m probably in the minority on this site when it comes to this movie. You and I usually have the same taste in humor, but I’m sorry I have to say this is by far one of the worst movies…I don’t get your fascination with it. Maybe its just me, but I can tolerate some foul language in a movie here and there, but to hear it every two minutes…especially the F word just turns me off completely. I’m glad I never spent $8 to go see it.
Darren, your problem is clearly that you don’t understand the genius of the film. Maybe you put forth a little effort to bring yourself up to the same level as everyone else here before you go making baseless statements like “this is by far one of the worst movies”.

I don’t know how many Weezer fans we have, but those of you who are familiar know that they’ve had a couple very good music videos over the years — I’m gonna go ahead and say that it’s every band’s dream to be heckled by the old dudes from The Muppet Show and to perform at Arnold’s (and have the Fonz dance to your tune).
Well Weezer put out a new album a couple weeks ago and their first release has another good video. This time it features many, many Internet cult classics, so I thought I would share: Pork and Beans
The tune is pretty much standard, fun, catchy Weezer, but even more enjoyable if the rumors are true that it’s in response to a complaint from record execs that their album (while in production) didn’t have enough marketable radio material. But the video is essentially a crash course in Internet pop culture, so if you haven’t been crawling around on the web for a handful of years but wanna know what’s been ingrained in the kids’ heads, it gives you a good idea. However, you’ll need some reference points (some language in a couple).

This is a good list of classic videos. Not all of these are videos, but most are. And while I wouldn’t consider all of these “must-sees,” there’s a ton of great, classic stuff there, and a lot of videos I hadn’t seen despite their apparent popularity.
One that is on this list that I’d forgotten about is the “shredding” video featuring Jake E. Lee (and Ozzy). That was an amazing series of videos, most of which you can’t find anymore on YouTube b/c they banned the user and yanked his videos (that YouTube link is not the original, it was simply reposted by some other user). Luckily, Wired posted them though. I think the best one is featured on that list, if for no other reason than Ozzy running around clapping is hilarious. Other ones that I think are particularly amusing are the Santana vid and the Metallica vid. But the dude who made these (stsanders) does a truly remarkable job synching up his terrible playing with the video. Every little detail is accounted for.
